History of Meyer and MMC

Meyer was founded in Hong Kong in 1951.  In the early days, we produced for export various kinds of metal consumer products, such as flashlights, lanterns, hinges, ashtrays, tennis rackets, etc.  It was not until the early 70’s that we ventured into non-stick aluminum cookware business.  Because of the success we enjoyed, in 1980, we decided to go also into stainless steel cookware.  Then through our innovative effort, we expanded into the hard-anodized business and introduced into the U.S. the world’s first hard anodized non-stick cookware line, Circulon, in 1986, thereby creating a new gourmet cookware category.  Throughout the years, Meyer has continued to put efforts and resources into developing various kinds of cookware.  Today, Meyer is one of the biggest cookware companies in the world.

Over these years, Meyer has grown substantially, from a small Asian factory to become a multinational manufacturing and marketing corporation.  We now have manufacturing facilities in Thailand, China, Italy and the U.S.  Among our factories, Meyer Industries Limited, our manufacturing arm in Thailand, is the biggest.  It has an area close to 200,000 square meters, employing over 3,000 people.

Unlike other Asian factories which are doing mainly OEM manufacturing, Meyer has also invested in marketing and distribution.  This enables us to service our customers, and ultimately the consumers, better.  We believe that for long term success, we need to distribute and market innovative products under our own brands.  Today, Meyer has distribution and marketing companies in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, India and Thailand.  We also distribute cookware to the Middle East, and other countries in Asia, Europe and South America,

To support marketing and distribution, Meyer invests into brands.  Other than the Meyer brand, over the years, we have invested heavily in developing our own brands, such as Circulon and Anolon, as well as acquiring reputable consumer brands in the world markets, such as Farberware, SilverStone, Prestige, Essteele, Raco, Fujimaru, Ruffoni, etc.  In addition, we have also licensed brands like Paula Deen, Rachael Ray, Ayesha Curry, etc. to help our distribution.

The strength of Meyer has always been in innovation and quality.  We are the first one to introduce Circulon hard anodized non-stick cookware, cookware with tempered glass lids, cookware with silicone sleeved cast stainless steel fittings, dishwasher safe hard anodized cookware, hard anodized cookware with a porcelain exterior, aluminum cookware that can be used on induction cooker, flushed rivets, etc.  Meyer is certainly the most innovative company in the cookware industry.  Last but not least, our attention to quality has certainly earned us an image that can be trusted by consumers.

Meyer Marketing (Macau Commercial Offshore) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as MMC), one of the companies under the Meyer group, was established in 2002.  To provide better service to customers, MMC was formed to perform the functions and provide the services of product development, design, market intelligence, pricing, sales and marketing.  It also acts as a go between and coordinates between the Meyer factories and customers.  It is the trading, business development, and strategic planning arm of the Meyer group of companies.
